Looking for that perfect souvenir to take home, or something really Chinesey to decorate your room?

Shenzhen Curio World (sometimes referred to as the Antique Market) opened in 2002 with acres of floor space and (by some counts) 2000 vendors. Billions of yuan have changed hands here, and the site has been a prime destination for the yearly International Cultural Industry Fair held in Shenzhen every May.

You'll find everything from plastic replicas to the real deal, as Curio World is the only place in Shenzhen authorized by the government to sell authentic cultural relics.

Looking for jade, ancient or modern? There's white jade here from every period of China's history, as well as jade in all other colors. The "Superb Jade Hall" holds shops with over 110,000 pieces of jade.

Want furniture? Get genuine Ming and Qing pieces. Or buy a burlwood tea table featuring a "Laughing Buddha" carved right in. Chairs, wall hangings, brush calligraphy, paintings, statues, folk art, and decorative stonework would also look great in your living space.

Furniture too big to carry home? How about coins from every period of China's history? Or jewelry?

Now, here's a little secret: you don't have to buy anything here. Most shopkeepers are proud to show you their goods. It's like a complete education, a massive museum of Chinese artifacts, all in one place. You could easily spend a full day here.

Shenzhen Curio World is located at the far east end of Shennan Road, just east of the intersection with Yanhe Road. Tell a taxi driver "Shenzhen Guwan Cheng" (深圳古玩城).
